Ridgeline Broadcast Services, LLC
Television Translator and Low Power TV Services
Dan
entered the broadcast industry in 1973 by designing a system for
inserting local ads on television translators for the purpose of
raising funds when that practice was made legal by the FCC. He later
took over maintenance and upgrade duties for many translator systems,
taking them through several rounds of FCC mandated changes in channel
assignments and many changes in transmitter technology. Dan has taken
many translator and LPTV operations into the digital age, transitioning
to the new ATSC digital broadcast
technology by installing new equipment or modifying old. He
maintains test equipment for measuring ATSC transmitter
performance and off air reception quality. Clients include independent
translator organizations (becoming more rare nowadays), low power
television licensees, and full service broadcast stations looking to
extend coverage. Dan is a longtime member of the National Translator Association.
