Dan
trained as a US Navy electronics technician and joined the submarine
service maintaining radar, sonar, and electronic surveillance
equipment. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in electrical
engineering from Colorado State University
then worked at Ampex corporation doing circuit design in their video
engineering department. Moving to Oregon in 1972, Dan pursued an
interest in radio and television broadcasting and has been involved in
that since.
Son Ben has been gaining experience as a tower
rigger since 2005 and has assisted in all phases of tower erection and
maintenance. He has assembled and mounted various FM radio and TV
transmitting antennas and their associated feed lines and connectors.
He has also worked as a painter since 1994 and brings experience in
industrial coatings to the challenge of painting towers. Ben holds a
certificate in Tower Safety and Rescue from ComTrain.
